Ashy hair color means color that is blue or green based. Most relate it to silvery or even white blonde tones.

If your hair is already a light blonde, going to silver or white blonde will be really easy and might take just one or two sessions.

But, if you are not lucky enough and have a bit darker hair, you should be prepared spend numerous sessions in the chair to get your hair lighter and to tone your blonde darker to obtain an ashier color and spend numerous sessions in the chair to get your hair lighter.

So, who can wear it?

You should totally go for this hair color if your skin is completely clear! This color will clash with the hints of redness from rosacea or acne, so that might not look as good as you imagined. Of course, if you have those types of redness on your face but you learned to cover it well, you can totally go for an ashy tones hair color.

Can you do it at home?

No. Seriously, do not even try it. Not even if you have dyed your hair at home before. It’s one thing to put a nice, warm glaze over your hair; but if you try to take your hair to ashy and make it look good will require skills you do not have unless you are a stylist. You might end up seriously damaging your hair and scalp- find a professional to do it for you.

What makeup will compliment this hair?

Since the tone of the hair is so icy and cold, you might want to pair it with a bright matte pink/red/orange lipstick and a bit of blush, just so you bring a little bit of the color to your face, to avoid looking pale and drab.

Maintaining this hair color.

Well, arm yourself with a lot of purple shampoo and a deep conditioner We Recommend Davines "Heart of Glass" Blond Shampoo which uses jagua fruit blue extract

To retain the shine of such an icy tone, you should deep condition your hair at least once a week, and the blue shampoo will help you maintain those nice, classy silvery tones.

Warm Balayage Haircolor

Caramel colors are the most popular when it comes to the available warm shades. The pros about warmer tones are that they brighten the face and often appear lighter than cooler/ashier tones, because warm hair tones will reflect the light, opposed to the ashier tones, which absorb the light.

Your colorist can get you there with toner. You may already have nice highlights that you paid a lot for and don’t want to get rid of. If you want to keep the pattern you have but just go a little deeper and richer, ask your colorist to do a warmer Toner to kick off your “fall color”.

So, who can wear it?

There are really no specific rules for this one; warm tones color looks beautiful on pretty much everyone. But, if you have pink tones in your skin, go for bronze! Bronze will look so much more complimentary to warm gold-toned hair.
